To become alkaline vegan there are a few steps you have to take. All of which can be found in my six week becoming alkaline vegan program. But, for now I will share with you the basics. The first step would be to inform your immediate family that you have decided to make this bold new lifestyle change. Start out by detoxifying your home of potentially harmful chemicals such as fluoride, aluminum, & heavy metals. This goes for cleaning products as well. You can replace your cleaning products with natural eco friendlier ones or simply make your own. Your family will need to be on board for this, as you swap out the toothpaste for fluoride free or the deodorant to aluminum free. You want to minimize your risk of becoming sick due to environmental exposure as much as possible.

The next step would be discovering alkaline vegan foods. Remember, there is a huge difference from vegan foods and alkaline vegan foods. A person who eats vegan or vegetarian would eat carrots, someone who is alkaline vegan would not eat carrots because they are hybrid. Hybrid foods are created when two or more species of fruits, plants, or vegetables are crossed. This is like mixing kale and brussel sprouts to get the newest vegetable “kalettes”. Hybrid foods are acid forming and mucus producing. These are the types of foods you want to avoid when creating an alkaline environment within the body.

There are a few cookbooks on the market that include a mix of alkaline vegan and hybrid foods. There are different alkaline vegan recipes online and videos on YouTube explaining how to make such foods. This can be helpful when starting out as an alkaline vegan. In an effort to help you save time I have included the alkaline vegan foods list from my six week becoming alkaline vegan program here.

The lifestyle is based on consuming the freshest most organic foods found in nature. Starting out as an alkaline vegan will require lots of fresh vegetables, fruits, & cooking on your part. Meal prepping is strongly recommended. Shop on Saturday, prep your meals on Sunday and your good for the week! Meal prepping may be the one key factor that will help you to reach your healthcare goals & successfully transition into, becoming alkaline vegan. Preparing your meals ahead of time is step three of your transition.

This is not the lifestyle for someone who is unwilling to put in the necessary work of improving their health or doesn’t see themselves as having “time” to “improve their health”. Nature has a way of keeping tabs on our bill of health and sooner or later comes to collect our debts.

Don’t underestimate the power of meal prep. By having your meals & snacks prepared ahead of time, you will be less likely to eat off of the plan. The convenience of “grab and go”, will save you time, money, & energy. Unfortunately there are very few places that serve alkaline vegan cooked foods. The majority of what you eat will be prepared right in your own kitchen. You know the ingredients are fresh and organic. You know how much salt was used. You have total control over what’s going into your body; this is how you take control of your health & your life.

Meal prepping can help you to become more organized in your daily life. It reinforces the good habit of time management, order, and consistency. These habits will undoubtedly spill over into other areas of your life creating balance and harmony. This one simple task can determine if you reach your healthcare goals or not. You may have to enlist the help of a family member or friend until meal prep becomes a habit, in fact I strongly recommend it. Friends and family can help hold you accountable in making sure you have prepared your meals for the week. When your friends and family know you prep your meals on certain days, they begin to develop this habit with you. As they are helping you to meal prep (which cuts the time in half) they will want to prep their own meals too! They will start to carry these healthy habits into their homes as well.

Tools needed for meal prepping alkaline vegan foods.

I do not recommend going out buying all of the tools listed above. As you start to prep your meals you may notice that having access to certain tools will make your life a lot easier.
